Race description
The 2026 World Veterans Mountain Running Championship in Janské Lázně is a prestigious international veterans' mountain running race attracting athletes from over 30 countries. The races take place on challenging courses with significant elevation gain, testing runners' endurance and strength. Organized by TJ Maratonstav Úpice under the patronage of the towns of Janské Lázně and Úpice. Registration is open until May 24, 2026, and the race offers several course variants with different lengths and elevation gains.
Highlights
- Uphill race: 7.79 km with an elevation gain of 851 m
- Long Distance race: 22.17 km with an elevation gain of 1332 m
- Up/Downhill race: 8.95 km with an elevation gain of 594 m
Additional information
Start lists are updated 1-2 times per week. Competitors must be members of the Veterans' Association of the Czech Athletic Federation; otherwise, they will not be allowed to start. Registration requires agreement with WMRA rules and anti-doping regulations. The organizers are TJ Maratonstav Úpice, WMRA, ČAS, and ČABDV under the patronage of the towns of Janské Lázně and Úpice. The event takes place in Janské Lázně on June 28, 2026, with the possibility for veterans' categories to participate. The race focuses on mountain running with demanding ascents and beautiful Krkonoše nature.
